Nickel-plating

Description:

The nickel-plating consists of the application of a nickel layer on any object surface.

Applications:

Its aim, usually, is to improve the resistance against corrosion, and/or for decorative issues or as the basis for other electroplating covers.
Due to its special features (resistance to air, water, acid and diluted alkalines), the nickel adjusts particularly well as covering metal for many applications, but, we can’t omit that the nickel isn’t resistant to concentrated nitric acid, hydrochloric acid or ammonia.
The biggest use of this kind of cover often is given to steel, zamak and brass objects.

Look/ Appearance:

With respect to the given tone, the nickel is silver-colored, but unlike chrome surfaces, it stands out with a yellowish pale.
In comparison to the chrome treatments, nickel covers are characterized by a slightly lower appearance (worse shine, the possibility of light dots), less resistance against corrosion and less mechanical strength, although, its lower price can make them attractive for those cases where mentioned requirements aren’t the key and/or so demanding.
In Mirvat we develop four kinds of nickel finishes:
Bright, satin finish, black and scoth.
