Chrome-plating

Description:

The chrome-plating consists of the application of a chrome layer on the surface of a previously nickel-plated object, which can be used on any kind of nickel covers. This process causes a clear, bright and bluish deposit for both decorative and functional purposes.

Applications:

Its applications as covering metal are similar that nickel’s, although, due that its process guarantees a very high stability both for performance and for color, it provides a higher resistance against corrosion and bigger strength than the nickel. Likewise, regarding to its decorative application, the chrome is more oxidation resistant than the nickel, not changing its color in long term.
Like the nickel, the most frequent use of this kind of cover is used to be over steel, zamak and brass objects.

Look/ Appearance:

With respect to the given tone, the chrome is pure silver colored, that is, without the yellowish pale touch that the nickel produces.
Chrome covers provide a slightly higher appearance in comparison with nickel covers (better brightness, barely appearance of light dots), higher resistance against corrosion and mechanical strength. However, its price is little higher.
In Mirvat we develop two kinds of chrome finishes:
Bright and Satin/Matte
Aforesaid finishes can be at the same time complemented with a later lacquering.
