Description:

Is a gold similar cover regarding to appearance, although with a quite worse quality, and therefore, with a much less cost level.
In order to improve its performance, avoiding the appearance of premature oxide, a lacquer layer is added, providing this way a higher resistance against corrosion.

Applications:

Precisely for its similarity in appearance to the gold, it is very used in jewelry for the making of costume jewelry and decorative elements. Other brass applications include the most various fields, from weaponry, boilermaking, welding, even the making of wires, tubes of condenser, electrical terminals, including the elaboration of coins or different musical instruments, like for example, the saxophone.
Other aspect which give it a broad range of uses is its property of not being able to be attacked by salt water, used a lot in the construction of boats, fishing equipment and marine, as well as in many wind musical instrument manufacturing, sound tongues for harmoniums, accordions and reed registers for musical organs.
In addition, for its antimicrobial action, it is used in door knobs in hospitals, which disinfect themselves, unlike metallic ones.

Look/ Appearance:

The brass has a brilliant yellow color, with a strong resemblance to the gold, as we have mentioned.
